Dr. Jason Burrus is a Board-certified Urologist.
Dr. Burrus earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before attending the University of South Alabama School of Medicine. After graduation from medical school in 1999, he served as a resident in general surgery for two years at the UAB Hospital. He then completed four years of urological training there. During his residency he underwent extensive training in laparoscopic surgery. He has special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
In addition to being a partner of Birmingham-Shelby Urology, Dr. Burrus is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the Southeast Section of the American Urological Association, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Shelby County Medical Society, and the Birmingham Urology Club. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Currently, Dr. Burrus is a member of the medical staff at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, St. Vincent's East, and St Vincent's Birmingham. He is a native of Jasper, AL.
